Nguyễn Trọng Lộc is known for his contemporary works that use local materials and glazing techniques to create pieces that are striking and thought-provoking. Throughout his work, Lộc stretches the continuity of forms, style, and techniques, creating pieces that are both aesthetically pleasing and intellectually stimulating.

Lộc's works focus on exploring the themes of the human condition. In this recent series, Lộc depicts the various conditions of the (un)human, refusing the exoticism of tradition ascribed to Biên Hoà craft. He explores the precarity of the human condition through contorted figurines, using the uncanny of monstrosity to reveal the context of moral corrosion. He maintains the contortions, but exorcizes the monstrous, resulting in smooth and reflective figurines that seem to have accepted their human condition despite adversity. The new figurines acquire a smooth sheen and seem to have accepted their human condition in a context of moral corrosion.
